Health and Safety Code § 242.311","heading":"MANDATORY CONTINUING EDUCATION.","body":"(a) The executive commissioner by rule shall establish a minimum number of hours of continuing education required to renew a license under this subchapter. The department may assess the continuing education needs of license holders and may require license holders to attend continuing education courses specified by department rule.\n(b) The executive commissioner shall identify the key factors for the competent performance by a license holder of the license holder's professional duties. The department shall adopt a procedure to assess a license holder's participation in continuing education programs.\nAdded by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 1280, Sec. 1.01, eff.
