Health and Safety Code § 254.001","heading":"DEFINITIONS.","body":"In this chapter:\n(1) \"Department\" means the Department of State Health Services.\n(2) \"Emergency care\" has the meaning assigned by Sections 843.002 and 1301.155, Insurance Code.\n(3) \"Executive commissioner\" means the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission.\n(4) \"Facility\" means a freestanding emergency medical care facility.\n(5) \"Freestanding emergency medical care facility\" means a facility, structurally separate and distinct from a hospital, that receives an individual and provides emergency care, as defined by Subdivision (2).\n(6) \"Provider network\" has the meaning assigned by Section 1456.001, Insurance Code.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 1273 (H.B. 1357), Sec. 1, eff.
