Health and Safety Code § 263.082","heading":"PAYMENT BY PATIENT.","body":"(a) A patient may not be permitted to pay an amount for the patient's maintenance in the hospital greater than the average per capita cost of maintenance in the hospital, including a reasonable allowance for the interest on the cost of the hospital.\n(b) An officer or employee of a county hospital may not accept from a patient a fee, payment, or gratuity for any service.\nActs 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, Sec. 1, eff.
