Health and Safety Code § 292E.002","heading":"APPLICABILITY.","body":"This chapter applies only to a county that:\n(1) is not served by a hospital district; and\n(2) is:\n(A) a county that:\n(i) has a population of more than 46,000 and less than 50,000; and\n(ii) is adjacent to the county containing the state capital;\n(B) a county that:\n(i) has a population of 900,000 or more; and\n(ii) borders two counties, each of which has a population of two million or more; or\n(C) a county that:\n(i) has a population of one million or more;\n(ii) contains all or part of a municipality with a population of one million or more; and\n(iii) is adjacent to a county with a population of 2.5 million or more.\nAdded by Acts 2025, 89th Leg., R.S., Ch. 621 (H.B. 3348), Sec. 1, eff.
