Health and Safety Code § 401.219","heading":"TECHNIQUES FOR MANAGING LOW-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE WASTE.","body":"(a) As a condition for obtaining a compact waste disposal facility license, an applicant must submit to the commission or its designee evidence relating to the reasonableness of any technique for managing low-level radioactive waste to be practiced at the proposed disposal facility or facilities.\n(b) Before determining the techniques to be used for managing low-level radioactive waste, an applicant shall study alternative techniques, including:\n(1) waste processing and reduction at the site of waste generation and at the disposal facility; and\n(2) the use of aboveground isolation facilities.\nAdded by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 1067, Sec. 7, eff.
