Health and Safety Code § 461A.106","heading":"COMPULSIVE GAMBLING PROGRAM.","body":"(a) The department shall establish a program for:\n(1) public education, research, and training regarding problem or compulsive gambling; and\n(2) the treatment and prevention of problem or compulsive gambling.\n(b) The department's program under Subsection (a) must include:\n(1) establishing and maintaining a list of Internet sites and toll-free \"800\" telephone numbers of nonprofit entities that provide crisis counseling and referral services to families experiencing difficulty as a result of problem or compulsive gambling;\n(2) promoting public awareness regarding the recognition and prevention of problem or compulsive gambling;\n(3) facilitating, through in-service training and other means, the availability of effective assistance programs for problem or compulsive gamblers; and\n(4) conducting studies to identify adults and juveniles in this state who are, or who are at risk of becoming, problem or compulsive gamblers.\nAdded by Acts 2015, 84th Leg., R.S., Ch. 1 (S.B. 219), Sec. 3.1158, eff.
