Health and Safety Code § 462.012","heading":"RIGHT TO REFUSE MEDICATION.","body":"(a) Each patient receiving treatment in a treatment facility licensed by the department under Chapter 464 has the right to refuse unnecessary or excessive medication.\n(b) Medication may not be used by the treatment facility:\n(1) as punishment; or\n(2) for the convenience of the staff.\nAdded by Acts 2015, 84th Leg., R.S., Ch. 1211 (S.B. 1560), Sec. 3, eff.
