Health and Safety Code § 555.055","heading":"CONFLICT OF INTEREST.","body":"A person may not serve as independent ombudsman or as an assistant ombudsman if the person or the person's spouse:\n(1) is employed by or participates in the management of a business entity or other organization receiving funds from the department;\n(2) owns or controls, directly or indirectly, any interest in a business entity or other organization receiving funds from the department; or\n(3) is required to register as a lobbyist under Chapter 305, Government Code, because of the person's activities or compensation on behalf of a profession related to the operation of the department.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 284 (S.B. 643), Sec. 22, eff.
