Health and Safety Code § 555.151","heading":"DEFINITIONS.","body":"In this subchapter:\n(1) \"Authorized electronic monitoring\" means the placement of an electronic monitoring device in a resident's room and making tapes or recordings with the device after making a request to the center to allow electronic monitoring.\n(2) \"Electronic monitoring device\":\n(A) includes:\n(i) video surveillance cameras installed in a resident's room; and\n(ii) audio devices installed in a resident's room designed to acquire communications or other sounds occurring in the room; and\n(B) does not include an interception device that is specifically used for the nonconsensual interception of wire or electronic communications.\nAdded by Acts 2013, 83rd Leg., R.S., Ch. 184 (S.B. 33), Sec. 2, eff.
