Health and Safety Code § 574.024","heading":"APPOINTMENT OF ATTORNEY.","body":"(a) When a protective custody order is signed, the judge or designated magistrate shall appoint an attorney to represent a proposed patient who does not have an attorney.\n(b) Within a reasonable time before a hearing is held under Section 574.025, the court that ordered the protective custody shall provide to the proposed patient and the proposed patient's attorney a written notice that states:\n(1) that the proposed patient has been placed under a protective custody order;\n(2) the grounds for the order; and\n(3) the time and place of the hearing to determine probable cause.\nAdded by Acts 1991, 72nd Leg., ch. 76, Sec. 1, eff.
