Health and Safety Code § 577.001","heading":"LICENSE REQUIRED.","body":"(a) A person or political subdivision may not operate a mental hospital without a license issued by the department under this chapter.\n(b) A community center or other entity designated by the department to provide mental health services may not operate a mental health facility that provides court-ordered mental health services without a license issued by the department under this chapter.\nAdded by Acts 1991, 72nd Leg., ch. 76, Sec. 1, eff.
