Health and Safety Code § 775.114","heading":"INSURANCE.","body":"(a) An action taken by the fire marshal in the investigation of a fire does not affect the rights of a policyholder or of an insurer regarding a loss caused by the fire.\n(b) The records of an investigation by the fire marshal relating to the detection, investigation, or prosecution of a crime may be admitted in evidence in the trial of a civil action unless those records are subject to an exception under Sections 552.108(a)(1) and (b)(1), Government Code.\nAdded by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 272, Sec. 5, eff.
