Health and Safety Code § 791.002","heading":"FIRE ESCAPE REQUIRED.","body":"(a) The owner of a building shall equip the building with at least one fire escape and with additional fire escapes as required by Subchapters C and D if the building has at least:\n(1) three stories and is used as a facility subject to Subchapter C; or\n(2) two stories and is used as a school.\n(b) A fire escape required by this chapter must meet the specifications provided by this chapter for an exterior stairway fire escape, an exterior chute fire escape, a combination of those exterior fire escapes, or an interior fire escape.\nActs 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, Sec. 1, eff.
