Human Resources Code § 114.012","heading":"FEES FOR SERVICES.","body":"(a) A service provider may charge a fee for services that is based on the client's or family's ability to pay. The fee must be used to offset the cost of providing or securing the services. If a service provider charges a fee, the provider must charge a separate fee for each type of service. In determining a client's or family's ability to pay for services, the provider must consider the availability of financial assistance or other benefits for which the client or family may be eligible.\n(b) A state agency may charge a fee for services provided by the agency under this chapter that is based on the client's or family's ability to pay.\nAdded by Acts 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 956, Sec. 9.01, eff.
