Human Resources Code § 42.051","heading":"INITIAL LICENSE.","body":"(a) The department shall issue an initial license when a facility's plans meet the department's licensing requirements and one of the following situations exists:\n(1) the facility is not currently operating;\n(2) the facility has relocated and has made changes in the type of child-care service it provides; or\n(3) there is a change in ownership of the facility resulting in changes in policy and procedure or in the staff who have direct contact with the children.\n(b) An initial license is valid for 12 months from the date it is issued and may be renewed for an additional six months.\nActs 1979, 66th Leg., p. 2365, ch. 842, art. 1, Sec. 1, eff.
