Insurance Code § 1201.104","heading":"MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR BENEFITS.","body":"(a) For individual accident and health insurance policies, the commissioner shall adopt rules establishing minimum standards for benefits under each of the following categories of coverage:\n(1) basic hospital expense;\n(2) basic medical-surgical expense;\n(3) hospital indemnity or other fixed indemnity;\n(4) major medical expense;\n(5) disability income protection;\n(6) accident only;\n(7) specified disease;\n(8) specified accident; and\n(9) limited benefit.\n(b) This section does not prohibit the issuance of an individual accident and health insurance policy that combines categories of coverage listed by this section.\nAdded by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 1274, Sec. 3, eff.
