Insurance Code § 1504.101","heading":"DENIAL OF ENROLLMENT ON CERTAIN GROUNDS PROHIBITED.","body":"A benefit plan issuer may not deny enrollment of a child under the health or dental coverage of the child's parent on the ground that the child:\n(1) has a preexisting condition;\n(2) was born out of wedlock;\n(3) is not claimed as a dependent on the parent's federal income tax return;\n(4) does not reside with the parent; or\n(5) receives or has applied for medical assistance.\nAdded by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 1274, Sec. 3, eff.
