Insurance Code § 1550.053","heading":"CERTAIN EXCLUSIONS AND INCREASED DEDUCTIBLES PROHIBITED.","body":"Except as provided by Section 1550.054, an insurer that provides stop-loss or other insurance coverage for health benefits under a contract subject to this subchapter may not, based on an individual's prior medical history:\n(1) exclude from coverage an individual who is otherwise eligible for the health benefits coverage; or\n(2) assign a higher deductible to the individual.\nAdded by Acts 2007, 80th Leg., R.S., Ch. 730 (H.B. 2636), Sec. 1G.002, eff.
