Insurance Code § 1811.002","heading":"APPLICABILITY.","body":"(a) This chapter applies to a certificate holder, policyholder, insurer, or agent with regard to a certificate of insurance issued on property or casualty operations or a risk located in this state, regardless of where the certificate holder, policyholder, insurer, or agent is located.\n(b) This chapter may not be construed to apply to:\n(1) a statement, summary, or evidence of property insurance required by a lender in a lending transaction involving:\n(A) a mortgage;\n(B) a lien;\n(C) a deed of trust; or\n(D) any other security interest in real or personal property as security for a loan;\n(2) a certificate issued under:\n(A) a group or individual policy for:\n(i) life insurance;\n(ii) credit insurance;\n(iii) accident and health insurance;\n(iv) long-term care benefit insurance; or\n(v) Medicare supplement insurance; or\n(B) an annuity contract; or\n(3) standard proof of motor vehicle liability insurance under Section 601.081, Transportation Code.\nAdded by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., R.S., Ch. 1212 (S.B. 425), Sec. 1, eff.
