Insurance Code § 2201.001","heading":"PURPOSE OF CHAPTER.","body":"The purpose of this chapter is to:\n(1) regulate the formation and operation of risk retention groups and purchasing groups in this state formed under:\n(A) the Product Liability Risk Retention Act of 1981 (15 U.S.C. Section 3901 et seq.); or\n(B) the Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986 (15 U.S.C. Section 3901 et seq.); and\n(2) protect the public by the appropriate regulation of groups described by Subdivision (1) to the extent permitted by law.\nAdded by Acts 2005, 79th Leg., Ch. 727 (H.B. 2017), Sec. 2, eff.
