Insurance Code § 501.051","heading":"APPOINTMENT; TERM.","body":"(a) The governor, with the advice and consent of the senate, shall appoint a public counsel to serve as the executive director of the office. The public counsel serves a two-year term that expires on February 1 of each odd-numbered year.\n(b) The governor shall appoint the public counsel without regard to the race, color, disability, sex, religion, age, or national origin of the appointee.\nAdded by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 1274, Sec. 2, eff.
