Insurance Code § 542.251","heading":"PURPOSES.","body":"The purposes of this subchapter are to:\n(1) provide for the prompt, efficient, and effective handling and processing of water damage claims filed under residential property insurance policies, including claims involving losses due to mold;\n(2) reduce the confusion and inconvenience policyholders experience in filing and resolving water damage claims filed under residential property insurance policies, including claims involving losses due to mold; and\n(3) reduce claim costs and premiums for residential property insurance issued in this state.\nAdded by Acts 2005, 79th Leg., Ch. 728 (H.B. 2018), Sec. 11.011(a), eff.
