Insurance Code § 544.001","heading":"APPLICABILITY OF SUBCHAPTER.","body":"This subchapter applies to:\n(1) any legal entity engaged in the business of insurance in this state, including:\n(A) a capital stock insurance company;\n(B) a mutual insurance company;\n(C) a title insurance company;\n(D) a fraternal benefit society;\n(E) a local mutual aid association;\n(F) a statewide mutual assessment company;\n(G) a county mutual insurance company;\n(H) a Lloyd's plan;\n(I) a reciprocal or interinsurance exchange;\n(J) a stipulated premium company;\n(K) a group hospital service corporation;\n(L) a farm mutual insurance company;\n(M) a risk retention group;\n(N) an eligible surplus lines insurer; and\n(O) an agent, broker, or adjuster; and\n(2) a health maintenance organization.\nAdded by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 1274, Sec. 2, eff.
