Insurance Code § 843.073","heading":"CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY REQUIREMENT: APPLICABILITY TO PHYSICIANS AND PROVIDERS.","body":"(a) A person is not required to obtain a certificate of authority under this chapter to the extent that the person is:\n(1) a physician engaged in the delivery of medical care; or\n(2) a provider engaged in the delivery of health care services other than medical care as part of a health maintenance organization delivery network.\n(b) Except as provided by Section 843.101 or 843.318(a), a physician or provider that employs or enters into a contractual arrangement with a provider or group of providers to provide basic or limited health care services or a single health care service is subject to this chapter and the following provisions and is required to obtain a certificate of authority under this chapter:\n(1) Section 1367.053;\n(2) Subchapter A, Chapter 1452;\n(3) Subchapter B, Chapter 1507;\n(4) Chapters 222, 251, and 258, as applicable to a health maintenance organization; and\n(5) Chapters 1271 and 1272.\nAdded by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1419, Sec. 1, eff.
