Insurance Code § 845.054","heading":"LOCAL GOVERNMENT.","body":"(a) The system is:\n(1) a unit of local government that is a governmental unit for purposes of Chapter 101, Civil Practice and Remedies Code; and\n(2) a local government for purposes of Chapter 102, Civil Practice and Remedies Code.\n(b) The system may enter into interlocal cooperation contracts under Chapter 791, Government Code, and is a local government for purposes of that chapter.\nAdded by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1419, Sec. 1, eff.
