Insurance Code § 846.258","heading":"COVERAGE FOR NEWBORN CHILDREN.","body":"(a) A multiple employer welfare arrangement's plan document may not limit or exclude initial coverage of a newborn child of a participating employee.\n(b) Coverage of a newborn child of a participating employee under this section ends on the 61st day after the date of the child's birth unless:\n(1) children are eligible for coverage under the multiple employer welfare arrangement's plan document; and\n(2) not later than the 60th day after the date of birth, the arrangement receives:\n(A) notice of the birth; and\n(B) any required additional premium.\nAdded by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1419, Sec. 1, eff.
