Insurance Code § 962.051","heading":"QUALIFICATIONS FOR CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY.","body":"An insurer may not be issued a certificate of authority to operate under this chapter unless:\n(1) it or a predecessor was writing the insurance coverages authorized by Section 962.101 on or before January 1, 1920, in at least one state; and\n(2) it had policyholders in this state on August 29, 1983, and provides proof of that fact to the department.\nAdded by Acts 2005, 79th Leg., Ch. 727 (H.B. 2017), Sec. 16, eff.
