Labor Code § 214.004","heading":"FRAUDULENTLY AVOIDING CONTRIBUTION OR PAYMENT OF BENEFITS.","body":"(a) A person commits an offense if the person makes a false representation, knowing it to be false, or knowingly fails to disclose a material fact, to:\n(1) prevent or reduce the payment of benefits to an individual entitled to the benefits;\n(2) avoid becoming or remaining subject to this subtitle; or\n(3) avoid or reduce any contribution or other payment required from an employing unit under this subtitle.\n(b) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor.\nActs 1993, 73rd Leg., ch. 269, Sec. 1, eff.
