Labor Code § 301.153","heading":"GOVERNANCE; AUTHORITY.","body":"(a) The commission shall establish policies for the division and the executive director shall supervise the director in administering the activities of the division.\n(b) The commission is the state authority established as a fair employment practice agency and is authorized, with respect to an unlawful employment practice, to:\n(1) grant relief from the practice;\n(2) seek relief from the practice; or\n(3) institute criminal proceedings.\n(c) The commission shall administer Chapter 21 of this code and Chapter 301, Property Code, including the powers and duties formerly exercised by the former Commission on Human Rights under those laws.\n(d) A reference in Chapter 21 of this code, Chapter 301, Property Code, or any other law to the former Commission on Human Rights means the commission.\nAdded by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 302, Sec. 2.\nAmended by:\nActs 2015, 84th Leg., R.S., Ch. 1138 (S.B. 208), Sec. 20, eff.
