Labor Code § 61.002","heading":"COMMISSION DUTIES.","body":"(a) The commission shall:\n(1) administer this chapter; and\n(2) adopt rules as necessary to implement this chapter.\n(b) The commission may require reports, conduct investigations, and take other action as it considers necessary to implement this chapter.\n(c) In the discharge of the duties imposed by this chapter, any authorized representative or member of the commission may:\n(1) administer an oath or affirmation;\n(2) take a deposition;\n(3) certify to an official act; and\n(4) issue a subpoena to compel the attendance of a witness and the production of books, papers, correspondence, memoranda, and other records considered necessary as evidence in the administration of this chapter.\nActs 1993, 73rd Leg., ch. 269, Sec. 1, eff.
