Local Government Code § 143.087","heading":"STRIKE PROHIBITION.","body":"(a) A fire fighter or police officer may not engage in a strike against the governmental agency that employs the fire fighter or police officer.\n(b) In addition to the penalty prescribed by Section 143.016, if a fire fighter or police officer is convicted of an offense for violating this section, the person shall be automatically released and discharged from the fire or police department. After the person is discharged from the department, the person may not receive any pay or compensation from public funds used to support the fire or police department.\nActs 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, Sec. 1, eff.
