Local Government Code § 143.088","heading":"UNLAWFUL RESIGNATION OR RETIREMENT.","body":"(a) This section does not apply to a municipality with a population of 1.5 million or more.\n(b) A person commits an offense if the person accepts money or anything of value from another person in return for retiring or resigning from the person's civil service position.\n(c) A person commits an offense if the person gives money or anything of value to another person in return for the other person's retirement or resignation from the person's civil service position.\n(d) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor.\nActs 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, Sec. 1, eff.
