Local Government Code § 143.1055","heading":"APPLICANT FOR BEGINNING POSITION IN POLICE DEPARTMENT WITH PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE.","body":"Notwithstanding any other requirement of this chapter, for any applicant for a beginning position in the police department who has previous experience as a police officer with another police department, the police department may:\n(1) modify the police officer training academy requirements for the applicant; and\n(2) allow the applicant to take the entrance examination before completing the academy training.\nAdded by Acts 2005, 79th Leg., Ch. 629 (H.B. 2457), Sec. 1, eff.
