Local Government Code § 143.1095","heading":"TRANSFERS IN POSITION IN SAME CLASSIFICATION IN FIRE DEPARTMENT.","body":"(a) The head of the fire department may transfer a fire fighter from one position to another position in the same classification in the fire department if the transfer is:\n(1) a promotion or demotion of the fire fighter;\n(2) required to balance the work force;\n(3) for disciplinary reasons;\n(4) based on the seniority of the fire fighter;\n(5) a result of a mutual agreement between the department head and the fire fighter; or\n(6) for any other specified reason the department head considers necessary.\n(b) If the department head transfers a fire fighter under this section, the department head shall designate in a written statement the basis for the transfer.\nAdded by Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 1, Sec. 28(a), eff.
