Local Government Code § 161.056","heading":"ELIGIBILITY.","body":"(a) To be eligible for appointment to the commission, a person must:\n(1) be at least 18 years old;\n(2) be a property taxpayer in the county; and\n(3) have resided in the county for the two years immediately preceding the date on which the person's term will begin.\n(b) A person is not eligible for appointment to the commission if the person is:\n(1) an elected officer;\n(2) a county employee;\n(3) a county affiliate;\n(4) a person employed as a lobbyist;\n(5) a person convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude or a felony; or\n(6) a person who is delinquent in payment of local, state, or federal taxes.\nAdded by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 799 (S.B. 1368), Sec. 1, eff.
