Local Government Code § 21.025","heading":"GENERAL GROUNDS FOR REMOVAL.","body":"(a) An officer may be removed from office for:\n(1) incompetency;\n(2) official misconduct; or\n(3) intoxication on or off duty caused by drinking an alcoholic beverage.\n(b) Intoxication is not a ground for removal if it appears at the trial that the intoxication was caused by drinking an alcoholic beverage on the direction and prescription of a licensed physician practicing in this state.\nAdded by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 1567, Sec. 2, eff.
