Local Government Code § 214.165","heading":"REPAIRS; CONVERSIONS.","body":"(a) A person who proposes to substantially repair or remodel a commercial building located within a subdivision or to convert a single family residence into a commercial building must obtain a commercial building permit from the permit department.\n(b) This section does not apply to a violation of a restrictive covenant that occurred before May 18, 1965, if the violation retains the status existing on that date.\nActs 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, Sec. 1, eff.
