Local Government Code § 231.221","heading":"LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS; PURPOSE.","body":"(a) The legislature finds that:\n(1) all of Hood County is located within the watershed that drains into Lake Granbury and the Brazos River;\n(2) the area that surrounds Lake Granbury and the Brazos River in Hood County is or will be frequented for recreational purposes by residents from every part of the state;\n(3) orderly development of the area and the watershed is of concern to the entire state; and\n(4) without adequate development regulations, the area and the watershed will be developed in ways that endanger and interfere with the proper use of that area as a place of recreation to the detriment of the public health, safety, morals, and general welfare.\n(b) The powers granted under this subchapter are for the purpose of:\n(1) promoting the public health, safety, peace, morals, and general welfare;\n(2) encouraging recreation; and\n(3) safeguarding and preventing the pollution of the state's rivers and lakes.\nAdded by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 1227, Sec. 1, eff.
