Local Government Code § 336.056","heading":"OFFICERS.","body":"(a) The board shall elect a trustee to serve as the board's presiding officer. The presiding officer presides at all board meetings and is the chief executive officer of the district.\n(b) The board shall elect from among its members a vice presiding officer, a secretary, and any other officers the board considers necessary.\n(c) The vice presiding officer acts as the presiding officer if the presiding officer is incapacitated or absent from a meeting.\n(d) The secretary acts as the presiding officer if both the presiding officer and vice presiding officer are incapacitated or absent from a meeting.\nAdded by Acts 2005, 79th Leg., Ch. 883 (S.B. 1205), Sec. 2, eff.
