Local Government Code § 363.151","heading":"DISTRICT RESPONSIBILITIES; LIMITATIONS ON EXPENDITURES.","body":"(a) The district may finance all the costs of a crime control and crime prevention program, including the costs for personnel, administration, expansion, enhancement, and capital expenditures.\n(b) The program may include police and law enforcement related programs, including:\n(1) a multijurisdiction crime analysis center;\n(2) mobilized crime analysis units;\n(3) countywide crime stoppers telephone lines;\n(4) united property-marking programs;\n(5) home security inspection programs;\n(6) an automated fingerprint analysis center;\n(7) an enhanced radio dispatch center;\n(8) a computerized criminal history system;\n(9) enhanced information systems programs;\n(10) a drug and chemical disposal center;\n(11) a county crime lab or medical examiner's lab; and\n(12) a regional law enforcement training center.\n(c) The program may include community-related crime prevention strategies, including:\n(1) block watch programs;\n(2) a community crime resistance program;\n(3) school-police programs;\n(4) senior citizen community safety programs;\n(5) senior citizen anticrime networks;\n(6) citizen crime-reporting projects;\n(7) home alert programs;\n(8) a police-community cooperation program;\n(9) a radio alert program; and\n(10) ride along programs.\n(d) The program may include specific treatment and prevention programs, including:\n(1) positive peer group interaction programs;\n(2) drug and alcohol awareness programs;\n(3) countywide family violence centers;\n(4) work incentive programs;\n(5) social learning centers;\n(6) transitional aid centers and preparole centers;\n(7) guided group interaction programs;\n(8) social development centers;\n(9) street gang intervention centers;\n(10) predelinquency intervention centers;\n(11) school relations bureaus;\n(12) integrated community education systems;\n(13) steered straight programs;\n(14) probation subsidy programs;\n(15) Juvenile Offenders Learn Truth (JOLT) programs;\n(16) reformatory visitation programs;\n(17) juvenile awareness programs;\n(18) shock incarceration;\n(19) shock probation;\n(20) community restitution programs;\n(21) team probation;\n(22) electronic monitoring programs;\n(23) community improvement programs;\n(24) at-home arrest;\n(25) victim restitution programs;\n(26) additional probation officers; and\n(27) additional parole officers.\n(e) The program may include court and prosecution services, including:\n(1) court watch programs;\n(2) community arbitration and mediation centers;\n(3) night prosecutors programs;\n(4) automated legal research systems;\n(5) an automated court management system;\n(6) a criminal court administrator;\n(7) an automated court reporting system;\n(8) additional district courts that are required by law to give preference to criminal cases, judges, and staff; and\n(9) additional prosecutors and staff.\n(f) The program may include additional jails, jailers, guards, and other necessary staff.\nAdded by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 23.03(a), eff.
