Local Government Code § 371.002","heading":"COMPOSITION OF BOARD.","body":"(a) The governing body of the municipality shall appoint five members to the board.\n(b) A board member serves two-year terms and may not receive compensation for service on the board. A board member serves only in an advisory capacity and is not a public officer or agent of the municipality.\n(c) A member's service on the board does not invalidate a contract with the municipality in which the member has an interest.\nActs 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, Sec. 1, eff.
