Local Government Code § 379H.052","heading":"ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP.","body":"(a) In this section, \"public officer\" means an individual who is elected to a municipal office.\n(b) A municipal employee is eligible to serve as a member of the board, and notwithstanding any law to the contrary, a public officer is eligible to serve as a member of the board and acceptance of the appointment will neither terminate nor impair service in the public office.\nAdded by Acts 2021, 87th Leg., R.S., Ch. 780 (S.B. 1679), Sec. 1, eff.
