Local Government Code § 43.003","heading":"AUTHORITY OF HOME-RULE MUNICIPALITY TO ANNEX AREA AND TAKE OTHER ACTIONS REGARDING BOUNDARIES.","body":"A home-rule municipality may take the following actions according to rules as may be provided by the charter of the municipality and not inconsistent with the requirements prescribed by this chapter:\n(1) fix the boundaries of the municipality;\n(2) extend the boundaries of the municipality and annex area adjacent to the municipality; and\n(3) exchange area with other municipalities.\nActs 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, Sec. 1, eff.
