Natural Resources Code § 131.135","heading":"APPLICATION FEES.","body":"(a) Each application for a surface mining permit shall be accompanied by an initial application fee as determined by the commission in accordance with a published fee schedule.\n(b) An initial application fee shall be based as nearly as possible on the actual or anticipated cost of reviewing the application, but shall not exceed $400.\n(c) After approval but before issuance of the surface mining permit, the applicant shall pay an approved application fee in the amount of $10 per acre of the permit area, which may be paid in annual installments apportioned over the term of the permit.\nActs 1977, 65th Leg., p. 2620, ch. 871, art.
