Natural Resources Code § 53.070","heading":"REINSTATEMENT OF LEASE.","body":"(a) If the owner of the forfeited lease complies with the provisions of this subchapter within 30 days after the declaration of forfeiture, the commissioner may reinstate the lease under the terms of this subchapter and other terms that he may prescribe.\n(b) If the lease is not reinstated within the 30-day period, the owner of the surface, as agent of the state, is entitled to lease the minerals.\nActs 1977, 65th Leg., p. 2473, ch. 871, art.
