Natural Resources Code § 89.051","heading":"RULEMAKING.","body":"(a) The commission shall adopt rules as necessary to regulate and monitor inactive wells under this chapter.\n(b) In adopting rules under this section, the commission shall consider:\n(1) the risk to public safety or the environment;\n(2) wellbore and wellhead integrity, including the ability to monitor casing pressure; and\n(3) regional risk considerations, including penetration of corrosive or over-pressured formations and completion in zones containing hydrogen sulfide.\nAdded by Acts 2025, 89th Leg., R.S., Ch. 1001 (S.B. 1150), Sec. 2, eff.
