Occupations Code § 101.251","heading":"CIVIL PENALTY.","body":"(a) A person who violates this chapter is liable to the state for a civil penalty in an amount not to exceed $1,000 for each violation. Each day a violation occurs constitutes a separate violation.\n(b) The attorney general may initiate an action under this section by filing suit in a district court in Travis County or in the county in which the violation occurred.\n(c) The attorney general may recover reasonable expenses incurred in obtaining a civil penalty under this section, including court costs, reasonable attorney's fees, reasonable investigative costs, witness fees, and deposition expenses.\n(d) A civil penalty recovered under this section shall be deposited in the state treasury.\nActs 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 388, Sec. 1, eff.
