Occupations Code § 1701.307","heading":"ISSUANCE OF OFFICER OR COUNTY JAILER LICENSE.","body":"(a) The commission shall issue an appropriate officer or county jailer license to a person who, as required by this chapter:\n(1) submits an application;\n(2) completes the required training;\n(3) passes the required examination;\n(4) is declared to be in satisfactory psychological and emotional health and free from drug dependency or illegal drug use; and\n(5) demonstrates weapons proficiency.\n(b) The commission may issue a permanent license to a person who meets the requirements of this chapter and the rules prescribed by the commission to serve as an officer.\n(c) The commission may issue a temporary or permanent license to a person to serve as a county jailer.\nActs 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 388, Sec. 1, eff.
