Occupations Code § 1701.316","heading":"REACTIVATION OF PEACE OFFICER LICENSE.","body":"(a) The commission shall adopt rules establishing requirements for reactivation of a peace officer's license after a break in employment.\n(b) The commission may consider employment as a peace officer in another state in determining whether the person is required to obtain additional training or testing.\n(c) The commission shall reactivate a peace officer's license after a break in employment if the former license holder:\n(1) completed at least 10 years of full-time service as a peace officer in good standing before the break in employment;\n(2) meets current licensing standards;\n(3) successfully completes:\n(A) an online or in-person supplemental peace officer course of not more than 120 hours; and\n(B) other in-person training requirements of not more than 40 hours;\n(4) passes a peace officer reactivation examination;\n(5) files an application; and\n(6) pays any required fees.\nActs 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 388, Sec. 1, eff.
