{"data":{"id":"us-tx/tex.-occupations-code-2153.163","jurisdiction":"us-tx","citation":"Tex. Occupations Code § 2153.163","heading":"EXTENSION OF CERTAIN LICENSES.","body":"(a) Except for good cause shown, the comptroller in writing shall permit a person who is the successor in interest to a business the license of which has expired to operate the business under the license as if the license has not expired if:\n(1) the person requests an extension of the expired license;\n(2) the license expired as a result of:\n(A) the license holder's death or dissolution; or\n(B) a condition involving receivership or bankruptcy; and\n(3) the county judge in the county in which the business is located or a probate judge with jurisdiction over the matter certifies that the person is the successor to the licensed business.\n(b) An extension of an expired license under this section:\n(1) expires in the same manner a license expires; and\n(2) is subject to suspension or cancellation in the same manner as any other license issued under this subchapter.\n(c) A person whose extension of an expired license expires may not renew the license. The person may obtain a new license by complying with the requirements for obtaining an original license under this subchapter.\nActs 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 388, Sec. 1, eff.
